  • Not everyone gets their dream job, but I’m a lucky person who has. Ever since my family started watching the news on WHIO when I was a kid, I wanted to work here. I was drawn to the profession of journalism because I’ve always been curious about what’s going on in our community, the nation, and the world. I grew up reading the newspaper and vividly remember watching TV news coverage of JFK’s funeral and Neil Armstrong’s moonwalk. I take very seriously the viewers’ trust and have strived every day of my career to be accurate, fair, and balanced in my reporting. I’m not a Miami Valley native, but it’s been home for most of my life. My dad was in the Air Force and was transferred from Waco, Texas to Wright-Patterson in the mid-1960s. In 1968, my mother died of breast cancer, leaving my dad a widower with six children. I went to school at St. Helen’s in Riverside and Carroll High School. I later earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcasting from the University of Cincinnati. A bonus to being a student at UC: I could hop on the city bus and go to Reds games. I was a huge fan of the Big Red Machine of the 1970s! My senior year of college, I interned at WKRC radio where I learned to really use what I was learning. In those days, almost everyone worked in radio news before moving into television news. Radio was great training ground for writing fast, developing one’s delivery, and meeting hourly deadlines. From there, I worked in radio for three years—with stints at WING in...

  • I have wanted to be a reporter for as long as I can remember—and I am so ... Porch pirates have stolen $8 billion worth of packages in past year, report says.

  • I have wanted to be a reporter for as long as I can remember—and I am so excited to be living my dream here in the Miami Valley! I am a proud native Michigander. I grew up in Pontiac, Michigan—just outside of Detroit and graduated from Oakland University in Rochester. Then, I packed my bags and headed north—first working as a reporter in Petoskey, Michigan and then as an anchor in Cadillac, Michigan before joining WHIO in November 2022. I NEVER imagined this Michigander would be packing his bags to move to Ohio—but I truly wouldn’t have it any other way! I think it’s a true privilege to get to tell people’s stories each and every day. I work hard to not just get the facts right—but also the humanity behind each story I tell. I want those I’m interviewing to not just feel like I’m there for a soundbite—but I’m there because I care about our community. I’m excited to explore the Miami Valley and get to know this community. When I’m not out reporting or behind the anchor desk—you can find me walking my rescue pup Cruz, trying a new restaurant or catching up on my all the shows I missed.
